TypeScript
TypeScript is JavaScript with types added: a way to describe what kind of data each part of the code expects, so mistakes are caught before the software runs.

Why businesses use TypeScript
As software grows, small mistakes such as passing the wrong kind of value become expensive bugs. TypeScript catches many of them while the code is being written, which means fewer problems reach your customers and changes can be made more confidently.
How TypeScript works
Developers annotate code with types, for example that a price is a number or a customer has an email. A checker reads the whole project and flags anything that does not match. The code is then converted into normal JavaScript that runs in any browser or server.
What it's used for
- 01Medium and large web applications
- 02Shared code between front end and back end
- 03APIs and SDKs used by other teams
- 04Long-lived products maintained by changing teams
Benefits
- Fewer bugs in production
- Safer refactoring and faster changes
- Code that documents itself
- Better editor support for developers
